This is Us!
Hey, this is Michelle and Sri. Welcome to the Policy Shop. In a world of 280-character limits and split-second attention spans, we’ve found ourselves much too long-winded for our generation. Policy is complex. Issues are complex. Change is complex. We don’t need taglines. We need as many words as possible. Like our generation, however, we’re opinionated, argumentative, and utterly self-obsessed. Why wouldn’t the world need two pretentious, privileged teenagers telling it what it’s doing wrong? We come to you from opposite sides of the political spectrum, bringing you Trump-bashing, liberal-hating, name-calling — all the mainstream media gimmicks — and some substantive policy discussion.

I don’t like being called a socialist, but strangely my views align with some of the principles. If the term has reform I probably advocate for it. My parents won’t let me protest on the streets, so I’m grateful that you want to hear my rants and yelling here. But I’m not a narcissist, I just like to justify my thoughts with “In my experience of debating for 5 years...” I believe in government intervention for the public good. Although I think everything about this nation should be changed, the one thing that never changes is my love for our nation.
I strongly dislike people who write about themselves in the third person, so let’s do this properly. I’m the redneck! I believe in small government, civil liberties, personal responsibility, and capitalism. I’m so grateful that you’re here and remotely interested in what I have to say. It’s an honor to be a recipient of your time, and I hope to use it well. That being said, I’m probably the one that will say something you don’t like. Tell me I’m wrong! I love passionate debate, my country, and the West Wing.
